Dan & Troubadour Wins 3rd Place at the Extreme Mustang Makeover

Dan and Troubadour left the crowd cheering with a standing ovation as they completed their Freestyle Finals Performance in Fort Worth last weekend!  Through a bit of controversy, a tie-breaker for 2nd, Dan and Troubadour won 3rd place.  No matter the score or placing, they were number one to all of us and the crowd!

The competition leading up to the Finals was the Extreme Mustang Makeover Body Condition Scoring & In Hand Class Thursday and the Extreme Mustang Makeover Horse Course on Saturday.  The combination of the scores determined the top ten finalists that competed in the Freestyle Finals Performance.

Dan and Troubadour wowed the crowd with lots of entertaining stunts. He jumped bareback with no hands and also while cracking a whip. Dan and Troubadour set up a steer and roped it in record time and the jaw dropping, crowd pleaser was when Dan, while cracking a whip, had Troubadour walk on his hind legs on a sled, behind his Chevrolet truck. He then continued walking up onto the bed of the truck, turned around and walked back down to the sled and onto the ground!

As the crowd roared, he dismounted and had our four year old daughter, Alley lead Troubadour out of the arena. Now that is a performance that will never be forgotten!

Dan and Troubadour had an amazing turnout of support in Fort Worth! Our family and friends have been so supportive and helpful during this entire training process. As most of you know, there is an incredible amount of time, preparation and training that went into getting ready for this prestigious event. We’d like to thank each of you for taking the time to come all the way to Fort Worth and for all of your love, support and encouragement! We hope you had a wonderful time!

A special thanks to everyone with the Extreme Mustang Makeover and Mustang Heritage Foundation. It was an honor to be a part of this special event to educate the public on these amazing mustangs.

It’s never too late to adopt one of these wild mustangs. As we have learned, they will win your heart and create a bond like no other horse you have ever known. For more information on adopting a mustang, donating to the Mustang Heritage Foundation or future events, please visit their website www.mustangheritagefoundation.org

Thank you from all of us at Dan Keen Horsemanship including the newest member of our family, Troubadour!

Dan sings the song "Troubadour" during the Talent Show.

Dan sings the song “Troubadour” during the Trainer Talent Extravaganza with this dedication: “This song is dedicated to a little horse that I have spent the last 100 days with and that my family and I have become quite fond of, especially my four year old little girl, Alley.”
